Matcon Manufacturing specializes in Powder Coating metal parts and components. Our years of experience have trained us in the complete coating process and how to provide a durable and colorful finish on all the products we produce.
Our powder coating facility can handle any capacity and shortens our production lead time, while maintaining our level of quality. Working with one of the country’s leading powder coating integrators, Matcon has designed the facility to meet the needs of our customers including a 16'x18' oven that allows us to provide faster turnaround times than the competition.
Our powder coating process reduces overspray waste common with solvent-based paints. An electrostatic paint sprayer is used to apply the coating to the metal part. The sprayer produces a positive electric charge on the powder and propels it towards the part through an electrostatic charge.
Once the initial coating is complete, the part is heat cured in an oven to chemically bond the powder to the metal producing a durable and aesthetic finish.
One of the most significant advantages of using powder coatings is that once solidified, more layers can be added id thickness is desired. Thicker coatings mean longevity and increased protection. Powder coatings are suitable for metal because they repel corrosive materials, such as chemicals and water.
